The Man and the Boy

I just finished reading the novel The Road by american writer Cormac McCarthy. The book won a Pulitzer Price for fiction in 2007.

A film adaptation is on the way and is due to release on November 25, 2009. I will definitely watch it.

Measuring LIFE

I just wanna share this to you guys...

 The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem, almost too much to handle,When 24 Hours in a day is not enough,Remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class And had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly,He picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jarand proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students, if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and pouredthem into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open Areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectivelyfilling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed..

'Now,' said the professor, as the laughter subsided,'I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things - family, children, health, Friends, and Favorite passions – Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, Your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car.

The sand is everything else --The small stuff.

'If you put the sand into the jar first,' He continued,'there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life.

If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,You will never have room for the things that are important to you.

So...

Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.Play With your children.Take time to get medical checkups.Take your partner out to dinner.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.'Take care of the golf balls first --The things that really matter.

Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.

'One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled.'I'm glad you asked'.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend.'

I am going to MARS!

Have you dreamt of going to Mars? Here’s you chance! NASA will collect names online and they will place it on board the Mars Science Laboratory rover heading to Mars in 2011. (it will be held on a microchip embedded into the spaceship's circuitry). How cool is that? And even better you will receive a certificate showcasing your support of the mission. I guess this is the closest thing of me going to outer space. ;) Go over to their mission site and participate.

I have signed up and below is my certificate. See you on board!

I can't believed I stayed 14 hours in the office yesterday. So glad the weekend is here coz I badly need to recuperate from work. I'm drained... I'm exhausted. It is a challenge to handle a team but I'm all up for it. This is something new and I need to work extra hard. First thing on monday is my WBR presentation and I'm not even yet done. The data came in late so I need to go to work early just to finish it. Yes... I love my job... Super! hahaha Oh well, work is work. This is what I signed up for so I better deal with it. Don't complain... just do it. Yes, I can definitely do it. :)

Am I?

Someone in the office approached and told me that I'm super nice. She then added that it may work to my advantage but more to my disadvantage.
She has a really good point.

I survived

I SURVIVED my first day in Travel pod! Yahooo!!! But I am sooo knockered to the bones. My legs are all aching because of too much running.... from one agent to another. It's unbelievably tiring assisting them but then again as a coach it is my responsibility to be there for them especially during this crucial two weeks in TP. One of my agents cried while I'm giving my feedback. She wants to quit. I feel for her. I understand how to be a new hire. It is not easy and its very frustrating. But then again it's just the first day and we still have 7 days to catch up. So to my team.. keep your spirit high and AIM for the perfect CSAT! :)

Off to bed now... ohhh my poor legs... shit! Varicose veins! ;)
